The front door closes securely and is held in place with a strong magnet. It also has a locking pin to prevent escapes which features a hole for an optional padlock (not included). This is great for homes that may have inquisitive children or for old-world tarantula species that need extra security. The gaps around the door are no larger than the 3mm ventilation holes
